Your motorcycle’s tires won’t last forever, but with a little care, you can extend their performance and ensure a safer ride.
Maintaining the right tire pressure is one of the easiest ways to maximize tread life, improve fuel efficiency, and enhance handling. Your motorcycle’s recommended pressure levels are in your BMW Rider’s Manual.
A tread depth gauge is a small but mighty tool that belongs in every rider’s toolkit. Regularly checking your tread ensures you’re riding safely with adequate traction.
Tires also have a shelf life. Check the DOT date code stamped on the sidewall of each tire. The last four digits tell you the week and year the tire was made (e.g., “1422” means the 14th week of 2022). If you’re unsure whether it’s time for new tires, bring your bike into our Service Center for a professional inspection.
For added reassurance, BMW Motorrad offers protection plans that cover tire and wheel replacement for damage caused by road hazards.
Don’t leave your tire safety to chance. Please schedule an appointment with our incredible Service Department to inspect your tires today!
